At Milby Nursery and Kids′ Club we pride ourselves on delivering a high level of early years childcare and education to all of our children. Both our nursery rooms and outside area focus on encouraging children′s independance and choice to support their individual learning. Our environment positively encourages exploration, investigation and fun through the freedom of choice.

|
Our learning areas are clearly defined with signs and photographs and equipment is labelled with words and pictures to facilitate independance. Nursery resources, equipment and activities are carefully chosen to enable and support a child′s learning journey through the framework of The Early Years Foundation Stage Development Matters (see EYFS section). We demonstrate a ′child centred approach′ to support every child in their development.

Staff observe children, make notes and use these observations to develop and support children in their next steps in learning. Parents are encouraged to contribute to their child′s learning and development in a variety of ways. e.g. nursery/home activities, photographs etc.
Our Ofsted report (Oct 2010) states ″All children benefit from very well-organised and purposeful indoor and outdoor play. The environment is bright, positive and stimulating. The quality of the planning in the nursery and out of school club is excellent because staff put careful thought into the activities and they value the children′s ideas, which they include in the choice of activities.″ |
